Food Donations

1.2 Food Donations / Orphanages

What We Do

Food donations from Food Bank Botswana are a lifeline for children and those in orphanages throughout Botswana.

1.3 Food Donations / The Elderly

What We Do

One of the primary goals of FBBT is to donate food and feed the elderly seniors in both organized care homes and in the community.

1.4 Food Donations / Emergency / Flash Feeding

What We Do

One of the primary goals of FBBT is to donate food and feed the elderly seniors in both organized care homes and in the community. When a disaster strikes, people who are already malnourished are more vulnerable to illness and death. FBBT takes a holistic approach to addressing malnutrition. Interventions range from those aimed at protecting health, the environment, and livelihoods to those aimed at ensuring food security (the ability of a household to access food, including blanket supplementary feeding).

Nutrition Awareness

2.Nutrition Awareness

What We Do

Appropriate nutrition is important for a variety of reasons, including optimal cardiovascular function, muscle strength, respiratory ventilation, infection protection, and mental health. Therefore, FBBT helps to raise public awareness about the relationship between nutrients in food and their functions in human body maintenance, growth, reproduction, health, and disease prevention.

Tackling Climate Change

3.Tackling Climate Change

What We Do

Food loss and waste have a significant environmental impact. They waste scarce resources used to produce food, such as water, soil, and energy, as well as labor and time, while emitting greenhouse gases. All this contributes to climate change and jeopardizes agricultural sustainability, human livelihoods, and the quality and safety of our food supply.
